Packing list for a bike trip in the summer
During our world trip we cycled with full packs: two rear panniers, two front panniers and a handlebar bag. At that time we had summer and winter clothes in our bags, a laptop, and an empty backpack on the back of our bikes. For a bike ride in the summer, we can go with less gear. It's summer, we run into stores every day and a laptop is not needed at all. Two panniers and a handlebar bag are more than enough. In the packing list below you'll find everything we brought on our two-week bike trip to the south of France.
We used almost everything in the packing list below, but still had a few items we didn't use. Because Olivier's father was riding with us, we only wild-camped once. We didn't need our water filter and hand saw. The tarp was also superfluous, and fortunately, we didn't need most of the spare parts. Still, we probably wouldn't leave these items at home on the next trip.
