Hut-to-hut Langsua

The stove beams warm in the morning, the sun shining on the highest peaks. The skis are standing outside against the hut, the shoes warm along the stove. Delicious those mornings with a cup of hot tea behind the window. Then a new day begins through the beautiful landscape to arrive at a new hut in the evening. That's what we are going to do with you! We will spend a week on skis through a beautiful national park in central Norway. A nature reserve with vast vistas, amazing views and white plains. Every night we sleep in a mountain hut where life is cozy and simple. There is no shower, we melt snow for our supper, play a game under the candlelight, go to the outdoor toilet and warm ourselves next to the wood stove. A wonderful trip, where we teach you all about snow and winter, so that afterwards you can confidently go on your own winter adventure. Will you join us?

Edition 2025: 15-23 february (4 places available) // €2.050

*This is a new trip. Are you the first one to join us?

LANGSUA

We spend a week trekking through Langsua national park. It is one of the youngest national parks in Norway, established in 2011. The park is over 540 km2. Together with the protected areas surrounding it, there is 1,000 km2 of protected nature, the same size as the 10 largest national parks in the Netherlands together. The park is home to otters, foxes and moose, while lynx and wolverines are regular visitors. In fact, the moose migration is one of the largest in Europe. At the lower elevations, there is a forest landscape with 3-400-year-old pine and birch trees. Higher up is the “lavfjell” mountain area with low vegetation, which provides vast white plains in winter. In the park are a number of mountain huts that make it a perfect place for a unique winter trip.

The teapot bubbles slowly on top of the wood stove. The evening sun shines through the window. Your cheeks feel rosy, your eyes a little sleepy. What a great day that was again. We left the cabin early in the morning while it snowed lightly. Gradually more and more blue sky came. As we crossed the fjell, out came the sun and, above all, an incredible view. It's so beautiful here! Now you sit with your legs up and socks by the wood stove. Life in the cabin is like a heated tent, cozy and intimate. You enjoy the simple life and those fine people you didn't know before but are now so familiar. The small group makes us care for each other and today it was you who proudly navigated us through the mountains with map and compass!

ON HUMAN POWER THROUGH NORWAY

WILDERNESS //

We will trek the wilderness for a week. A week of returning to simplicity, completing the trek on our own, longing and enjoying the little things. It is those little things in life that make for great happiness. If we are lucky, we will see moose, foxes and the northern lights.

ON HUMAN POWER //

We trek for a week on skis, carrying everything we need on our backs. We navigate by map and compass. No adventure is meant to be easy, nor is this one. The great satisfaction is being able to overcome the physical elements.

WINTER //

An adventure in winter means discipline and teamwork. It is too cold to stand still and do nothing. It is a challenge that we face together. Exercise during the day and relaxation at night. A nice balance.

"Being rich does not mean having more, but being happy with little." - WeLeaf
"Your tremendous drive, knowledge, experience and caring is truly your strength and thus you have given me the confidence to make such a journey on my own." - Margien
"I feel a tremendous wealth. An incredible fluke. That I was able to experience this. That I done this. Every time I look back at the pictures that feeling comes back." - Willem

ABOUT US

We are Zoë and Olivier. In 2016, we left on a trip with no experience, no destination and no time limit. We left on bikes and had no idea if we could do it, if we would like it. Four years later, we have covered 45,000 kilometers on human power, by bike, canoe, on foot, while sailing, skiing and skating. Slowly and sustainably. Something we never planned and certainly never thought we could do. It is a dream that became not only a reality, but also a lifestyle. Since 2022 we live in Norway where we have our basecamp. From here we continue to build on our next dreams.
